Tour description

Step into a different side of Rome with this private tour of the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art (GNAM), an experience dedicated to bold ideas, experimental forms, and artistic revolutions. Far from ancient ruins and Renaissance palaces, this tour reveals how Rome embraced modernity through art.

Accompanied by an Official Private Guide, you explore one of Italy’s most important modern art collections, spanning more than 150 years of Italian and international creativity. Moving through elegant halls and light-filled galleries, you encounter works that reflect profound social, political, and cultural change.

The tour traces a journey from the refined realism of Antonio Canova to the radical visions of artists such as Giacomo Balla, Giorgio de Chirico, and Alberto Burri. Each room introduces new artistic movements and challenges traditional ideas of beauty, form, and meaning.

Through engaging storytelling, your guide explains the context behind each movement and the personalities that shaped them, helping you understand how Rome evolved into a modern cultural capital where past and present coexist in unexpected ways.

This private experience is ideal for art lovers seeking a deeper, more contemporary understanding of Rome, offering a fresh and thought-provoking perspective on the Eternal City.
