How it all began
Back in 2005, three friends Emiliano, Denis and Francesco shared a deep passion for the city of Rome and the Vatican city. This small group of friends expanded to include a number of young and enthusiastic local art lovers. From our meetings, a simple idea emerged: art is a lot of fun, and we wanted to share it with the world. The Eyes of Rome Association was started as a “Frienpany” (a company of friends) as we like to call it. There was no boss but instead, authority and duties were shared in turns.
Eyes of Rome started giving 3 classic tours: The Vatican Museums tour, The Colosseum tour and the City Walking tour, but the associates - we prefer to call ourselves story-tellers - were eager to study and put together more off-the beaten path itineraries and unconventional ways of touring. The fun had just begun. Since its humble beginnings, Eyes of Rome has become a world-renowned tour operator, established as one of the highest rated tour guide agencies in Italy. Our focus has always been on amusement and diversification with a constant eye on providing high-quality, educational, friendly and interactive tours.
As our Eyes of Rome family has continuously grown, so has the number of tours and guides. We now have in our catalogue over 120 different types of private tours and infinite ways of touring with over 40 brilliant Italian guides. We expanded our interest in other artistic cities and in 2009 we opened up to tour in Florence as our second city. Working closely with cruise companies we kept expanding our areas of expertise to include Naples and the Amalfi Coast in 2010. Finally, the cherry on top, was Venice, the fourth city added to our repertoire in 2012, always with the same old passion that got it all started.
Nevertheless we still remain, above all, a company of friends.
