The area of the famous flower market derives its name from being once a field of flowers, paved in 1456 under Pope Callistus III. Public executions took place in this square, which is nowadays commemorated by the impressive statue of Giordano Bruno, the Italian philosopher burnt at the stake in 1600 for heresy. The Spanish Steps are unique for their unusual plan and shape designed by Alessandro Specchi and Francesco De Sanctis. Traditional icon of the Italian Dolce Vita, the Spanish Steps cannot be missed during a visit to the Eternal city.

Piazza del Popolo is one the most famous squares of Rome and it is clear to see why. The square is surrounded by 3 of the most beautiful churches of Rome, a large Egyptian obelisk surrounded by fountains and accessway to one of the picturesque viewpoints in Rome. You will also notice the imposing door of Rome, decorated by none other than Bernini.
