    Dear Frank,

Thanks for your question. We have introduced this new tour in 2018! Thanks to our special partnership with the Vatican we are able to grant you access to the Vatican Museums 15 or 30 minutes prior to the Early Morning entrance. You will thus enter at 7:30AM/7:45AM instead of 8:00AM, skipping through the large crowds waiting for the doors to open! This is a special VIP access and it is absolutely worth it.

This type of access is the a true skip the line guaranteed!

To book the tour, or read further information, simply click on the following link:

    Sounds great!

Before I book the tour, I noticed that the Early Bird Tour starts at 7:00AM as opposed to the Prime Tour that meets a bit later. I am a bit confused as why we would meet the guide later in the morning if we enter the Museums earlier?

That is a great question Frank!

With our Early Bird Tour you will meet your guide at your accommodation at 7:00AM in order to be able to arrive to the Vatican Museums as early as possible to be among the first to enter the Vatican when the doors will be open for the special entrance at 8:00AM. Please keep in mind that official public entrance is at 9:00AM. Your guide will start explaining the general history of the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel to give you an ntroductory insight before you enter at 8:00AM.

With our PRIME Early Bird tour, you are able to meet your guide a bit later (at 7:20AM) as you won't need to worry about reaching the Vatican Museums as soon as possible. With your guaranteed skip the line entrance at 7:45AM, you will simply skip the crowds waiting for the Early Morning opening and enter before everyone else.

Hi. We will coming to Rome again next spring. We have already used your tour services last time a couple years back and toured the Vatican Museums with Stefania. This time around we will be travelling with our children and I would love for them to see the Sistine Chapel, without the Museums as we have already seen those last time and I believe it would be too much for my kids. Is there a skip the line to the Sistine Chapel?

    Thanks

Ciao Tina! We are thrilled to hear that you will be back soon with your children!

While no skip the line tickets exist for a direct passage into the Sistine Chapel, we do indeed have an amazing tour for you! Our Prime Express Tour! With this tour, you will enter the Museums just like with our regular Prime Tour, but your guide will be able to take a shortcut and head straight to the Sistine Chapel without stopping in the Museum Galleries! This tour focuses primarily on Michelangelo's stunning ceilings and the St. Peter's Basilica and lasts about 2 hours. Enough time to keep kids engaged without getting bored!

Send us an email directly at info@eyesofrome.com and we will send you all information!

    Ciao!

    Hi!

I'm planning my next trip to Rome with my family of 5. We have 3 kids under 10. We really want to see the Vatican with no wait in line at all, so based on what I have read the Prime Vatican Tour sounds exactly right. However, I am concerned getting up so early with 3 small children, as well as their attention span during the tour. Can this tour be recommended for children?

    Ciao Lindsey!

Great question! We completely understand your concern about touring with small children, especially when we are talking Museums! We actually suggest this prime tour for anyone with smaller children, especially because of the guaranteed no wait in line (most tantrums with children tend to happen during waiting in lines) and because tourind inside a less crowded space tends to be more stressfree for parents as well.

Moreover, when we have guests touring with children, we try to assign our most child friendly guides, who are truly amazing at keeping small children or teenagers attentions!

What about the Sistine Express Tour? I have already been several times at the Vatican Museums, I am bringing my student daughter in the summer, but as we have little time available I would like to show her just the highlights of Rome.

Our Sistine Express Tour is designed exactly for those who either have little time available in Rome and are trying to hit the main highlights or for those who are only interested in seeing the Sistine Chapel and skipping through the Museum galleries.

The tour lasts approx. 2 hours, it guarantees skip the line before the Early Morning entrance, and your guide will head straight to the Sistine Chapel with you, giving you the chance to view Michelangelo's masterpiece without the general crowds. From there, through the direct passage head to the St. Peter's Basilica. You tour will end approx around 9:30AM: when most people will start their Vatican Tour, you will already be finished!

If you'd like further information give us a call or send us an email!

    Thank you!

    Hi Eyes of Rome,

I'm looking at a Private Tour of the Vatican Museums and I'm interested in your Early Bird / PRIME Tour with VIP access. I prefer to access early as I've heard about large crowds inside the Museums, however, I would like to have lunch with my kids at the Museums Restaurant (I think I would choose the one in the Courtyard).

Is it possible for the guide to lead us there at the end of the tour?

  • Ciao Andrew,

This is Silvia from Eyes of Rome!

I would like to provide you with more information about the tour itself and the itinerary we will follow: We will start from the main Galleries located inside the Vatican Museums (you know....it is actually a collection of Museums!!), then we will get to the Sistine Chapel which is the last "Room" of the Museums. This tour include St.Peter's Basilica, which is accessible through a shortcut located inside the Sistine Chapel. Unfortunately the shortcut is a one-way passage, if we get to St.Peter's we can not walk back to the Museums. The ticket is valid for one entrance only so, even if we go back to the entrance, we won't be allowed to enter with the same ticket.

Of course, we can decide together the itinerary to follow: if you wish to stay inside the Museums so to have lunch with your kids, you can think about skipping St.Peter's Basilica (Which is free of charge and can be visited in the afternoon as well) and we can lead you to the Courtyard, extending the visit inside the Museums....

We are looking forward to hearing your thoughts at info@eyesofrome.com!

    A presto!

That's exactly what I did last year with my family! We actually were "forced" to take a break, as my mother had already visited St.Peter's Basilica and she insisted to stay inside the Museums........well, St.Peter's is stunning but we had the chance to explore the Carriage Pavilion and, if I am not wrong, the Borgia Apartments, before to reach the Sistine Chapel.

I wish you a nice trip,

    Carla

Ciao Eyes of Rome, I just wanted to thank you for the great experience we got! I must admit I was a little bit sceptical about purchasing a Private Tour with Prime access, but it was definitely worth it! Our amazing guide met us at our Hotel, called a taxi to lead us to the Vatican Museums, showed an entrance voucher to the Vatican Guards and they allowed us to enter!! We skipped ALL KIND OF LINE, that was great! We saw people lining up early outside the walls, we saw other groups waiting for the official opening....we really felt VIPs!! Highly recommended :) Thank you guys!

    Ciao Akash,

Thank you for your very interesting question!

From our side we always recommend buying tickets to the Vatican Museums with skip-the-line access, as the stream of visitors at the Museums is never predictable even in February!

Regarding the PRIME access, the experience is completely different as it not only guarantees you to access 15 minutes before other Tour Operators and 1.15h before the general opening, but also guarantees you to see the Museums in a completely different way. You will cross the "State Border" between Italy and the Vatican City State while entering the Museums and you'll stroll through the galleries in a silent atmosphere, almost as if you were walking in the Pope's residence!

    A presto!

Hi, I am coming to Rome with my parents in 2019. We've already visited the Vatican Museums but we had a lot of difficulties. My mother walks with a cane but we had heard about the long walking distances inside the Museums so we took a wheelchair at the Vatican Lobby. I thought that was a good idea, but we had to face large crowds inside the Museums (it was August and we almost couldn't breath). I think the wheelchair path goes on the opposite direction than the regular itinerary, is this correct?

The Prime access looks very interesting....is the Private Early Bird PRIME Tour wheelchair friendly?

For us it would be fine to follow the same route, skipping the Church. We just want to learn more about the Museums..

Karin Libri | Eyes of Rome | Tour Guide

Ciao Hui, my name is Karin and I am one of the guides at Eyes of Rome. It is a pleasure to answer your questions, confirming that the Early Bird Prime tour is absolutely wheelchair friendly! As you have specified, the Vatican Museums provide an alternative route for people in wheelchairs. Even if your mother could walk with a cane, completing the tour itinerary would require too much effort and it would be a shame not to fully enjoy this fantastic experience! We guides have been trained to follow this alternative route and it will be a pleasure to share with you our knowledge, especially with a PRIME early access! As you have already written, St. Peter's Basilica is only accessible by going down four flights of stairs .... I do not recommend for this reason to include Saint Peter to the visit itinerary. I remind you that the access to the Basilica is free and there is an access reserved for wheelchair users!

I hope to meet you soon!

Ciao, I have a technical question. I've heard that it's not possible to talk inside the Sistina Chapel. Can you please tell me how will the guide explain the meaning of the frescoes? Also, I would like to tour the Vatican and Coliseum in the same day. Would you recommend the Early Bird / Prime Tour + Coliseum or the Vatican Hidden Gems Tour + Coliseum?

Hi Linda, it's a pleasure to get to know you and answer your questions!

The explanation of the frescoes of the Sistine Chapel varies from guide to guide ... it is certainly provided before to access, so that once inside you will admire the frescoes knowing their history and meaning. When the access to the Vatican Museums is early in the morning, guides usually explain the history of the Sistine Chapel before entering. For other tours and also depending on the season, the explanation can take place in the Courtyard of the Museums (outdoors), or inside, when a quiet place is spotted.
In answer to your second question: you can visit the Colosseum and Roman Forum after the Vatican Museums according to your preferences.

If you prefer a long-term tour we suggest you to book the Private Early Bird PRIME Tour+ Colosseum extension. If you rather prefer to disconnect the two tours, then also a Private Hidden Gems Tour and an Ancient Rome Tour are for you! Remember to add the tours to the cart separately. You will have time for a lunch break between the two tours!

If you think that a long break in-between is needed, you can select the Private Early Bird PRIME Tour and, separately, the Ancient Rome tour. In this case you would have a few hours available to "recharge your batteries" before the second tour starts!

Please contact us at info@eyesofrome.com in case of further questions!

    A presto!
