Langhe: Private Truffle Hunt from Alba with Driver

Experience one of the most authentic traditions of the Langhe on this private truffle hunt from Alba, guided by a local trifolau and his trained dog. This experience offers a rare insight into a centuries-old practice deeply rooted in Piedmont’s rural culture.

Your experience begins with a private pick-up from Alba or nearby surroundings, directly at your accommodation. Traveling comfortably with a private driver, you reach the wooded area where the hunt takes place.

Once in the forest, you meet the trifolau and his dog and begin a private simulated truffle hunt lasting about one and a half hours. As you walk through the woods, you observe the close bond between the trifolau and his dog, learning about the techniques, patience, and knowledge required to search for truffles. The guide explains how truffles are found, the role of the dog, and why this activity is so closely linked to the land and its seasons.

The experience is conducted privately, allowing you to enjoy the quiet atmosphere of the woods and fully focus on the demonstration without distractions. An English translation is provided to ensure clear explanations throughout the activity.

At the end of the hunt, your private driver takes you back to your accommodation, completing a refined and immersive experience that connects you directly with one of Piedmont’s most iconic traditions.
