A true gem of the Western World and Italian heritage!
Tour description
You’ll visit the impressive Uffizi Gallery, one of the largest museums in the Western world, holding over 3,000 works of notable art. The Museum complex is deeply bound to the history of the city and the House of Medici and echoes the splendor of a whole era. Masterpieces by Giotto, Masaccio, Piero della Francesca, and Botticelli are waiting for you, along with the most recent Caravaggio, Tiziano, and Tintoretto and the stunning Leonardo da Vinci’s Annunciation and Adoration of the Magi.
The origins of the Uffizi Gallery date back to 1560 when Cosimo I de 'Medici entrusted Giorgio Vasari—an Italian painter, architect, writer, and historian—with the ambitious project of constructing a vast building to house the administrative and judicial offices of the Florentine State.
Today, the Uffizi houses an extensive artistic heritage, featuring thousands of paintings from medieval to modern times, along with ancient sculptures, miniatures, cameos, books, paintings, coins, and armor.
This tour, led by a knowledgeable guide well-versed in this unique facet of Florentine history, follows the incredible heritage of the Uffizi Gallery and the steps of the Florentine population. Participants will have the opportunity to pause at the panoramic museum terrace, enhancing their appreciation of this unparalleled artistic legacy
