We are indeed tour guides but first we are travelers. We understand there might be last minute unforeseen circumstances that might cause a change of plans. When we sat down to write our cancellation policy we decided to think to what Cancellation Policy we would like to have for ourselves for our trips.

In Veneto and in the waters of the Adriatic Sea stands one of the most romantic and evocative places in the world, a priceless treasure: the Venetian Lagoon.

The beautiful city of Venice is indeed a group of fascinating small islands, where art and history combine with old trades and the beauty of the sea. The fascinating inland is composed of many paths traversing the green scenery, along with peaceful rivers that pass through small towns rich in history and fabulous villas. Set off with your private guide on a half day tour to explore the colourful islands of Murano and Burano, possibly the most evocative of the whole archipelago.

Your tour from Venice to Murano and Burano begins as you board your motorboat and set off across the Venetian Lagoon to your first stop, the island of Murano, world renowned for its ancient tradition of glass making. Marvel at glass masters blowing glass right in front of the furnace and enjoy a visit at their elegant show room. The excursion then continues to the island of Burano, famous for its colourful houses and the hand-crafted lace works, true works of art created by the local ladies.

Head back to Venice after this fascinating boat trip in the Venetian Lagoon. The stops on the islands will be about an hour in Murano and a hour and a half in Burano.

I didn't know there were differences between the cities in terms of their 'signature style' of pizzas! I'm going to be visiting Venice soon, does anyone know what the pizza looks like there?

    Hello Jessica!

As Emiliano explained, generally the pizzas up north are thinner but not as thin as they are in Rome (they're all equally delicious, though)! The portions of the pizzas in Venice tend to be on the smaller side whereas in Rome the classic pizza is served on a grander scale. Although pizza isn't the dish that the Venetians are best known for, you may be able to find some specialty sea food toppings! We've included a picture for you to get an idea of what they look like in Venice as well as a link of the top pizza places in the city:

    https://foursquare.com/top-places/venice/best-places-pizza

We hope that this info has helped! If you're able to make it to Rome too we wrote an article about the best pizzas in Rome and where to find them.

Enjoy your time in Venice and thanks for your interest!

  • Ciao Jessica,

you can try to go for a CALZONE rather than a Pizza if that does not fully convince you in Venice.

Calzoni are folded pizzas and in my opinion they differ a little less than pizzas from north to south. They can vary in their toppings but most of them have ricotta cheese inside which is a typical italian cheese made from sheep, goat or cow milk.

In Italian calzone means literally "trousers" as they seem to look like pant legs.

I am not a big fan of ricotta but the calzone is definitely worth a try.

    Hello,

Does anyone know if there are baby changing tables in the Trenitalia trains? Which is the fastest and best service to get to Venice from Rome?

    Thank you,

    Kristen

    Hello Kristen,

Yes there are baby changing tables aboard all the train services from the Freccia Bianca (most affordable) to the Freccia Argento (best, most expensive). We suggest checking the seat map online when booking your tickets so you can select your seats near the restrooms for your convenience. Also, whether you book the Freccia Rossa or Argento or the private train service Italotreno which are all the high speed services, you should make it to Venice in just about 3.5 hours from Rome.

We hope we were able to assist you.

    Best,

    Eyes of Rome team
