Ciao! I'm Elisa and as you can imagine I was born and raised in Rome. A city that never ceases to amaze me. I can't say exactly when my passion for art history started. When I was young, I remember, my father during the Christmas holidays, used to take me to see the nativity scenes in the beautiful Roman churches. I was enchanted in front of those suggestive “artistic creations”: the flowing water, the colorful houses, characters that recreated stories, lights, etc.. But the event that most likely prompted me to take this path was the meeting with my high school teacher. Her overwhelming spirit made me literally fall in love with the subject. Thanks to her I started my historical and artistic studies at University becoming an Art Historian. Still today I continue to study, deepening and browsing every area but telling the truth, the ancient Romans and their world have always had a strong influence on me. I like very much to know the numerous and curious aspects of their daily life and to compare them with our time. After all they weren't so different from us! Living in Rome is a great privilege because I can perfectly match passion and work. A passion for art, history and archeology that it will always accompany me in and out my tours! 

BEING A TOUR GUIDE IS... an amazing work experience! Certainly you never get bored and every day is different from the other one. This thanks to the people I meet, with their culture, their stories, their life experiences etc.. I love it! I think it's a beautiful “exchange” and a great personal growth for me. Recounting you stories and legends of Rome, surrounded by so much beauty, represents for me a “fascinating escape” from everyday life that I love to share with all of you. It will be a pleasure to be your personal storyteller...with me there will be lots of smiles and fun!

MY FAVOURITE ITALIAN GESTURE As a pasta lover, my favorite gesture is this one: a hand rotates back and forth with the index and middle finger downwards. What does it mean? A fork ready to pick up the spaghetti from the plate! (the plate represented by the other hand). The Italians give up everything but not pasta! Short, long, homemade or not, this gesture indicates to eat something. A curiosity. In the typical Roman dialect, the gesture is accompanied by the phrase: "Se famo du spaghi"? I mean "Let’s make spaghetti"?. If at the end of the tour you should be hungry use this gesture and I'll suggest the right place for a tasty dish of spaghetti, maybe “alla” carbonara!!
