  • The area of the famous flower market derives its name from being once a field of flowers, paved in 1456 under Pope Callistus III. Public executions took place in this square, which is nowadays commemorated by the impressive statue of Giordano Bruno, the Italian philosopher burnt at the stake in 1600 for heresy. The place is today very lively both during the day and by night.
  • One of the biggest and most breathtaking monuments you'll come across while walking in the Jewish Ghetto of Rome is the majestic ruins of Octavia’s Porticus. Constructed two thousand years ago under the order of Augustus, in honor of his sister Octavia, was a monumental marble area surrounded by columns and embellished by two temples dedicated to Juno and Jupiter. The frescos that are still visible today were realized centuries later, showing us how this area was continuously used over the centuries.
  • A quant area of Rome that has seen vast changes over the centuries. This area was home to the original Jewish Synagogue of Rome and also the oldest church of the Eternal City. During 753–509 BC it was home to "Hostile Etruscans" and once overtaken, the area was largely used by local fishermen as they took advantage of the close by Tiber river. This part of Rome was even chosen by Julius Caesar as the location for his luxury Garden Villa!

Near the famous piazza of Campo de' Fiori visit an artisan deli where you will enjoy Roman wine paired with typical Italian delicacies from a family who has specialized in cured meats since 1890! Next, visit the heart of the Jewish Ghetto to see a one-of-a-kind shop described as the kingdom of cheeses. The owner, Beppe, moved to Rome from northern Piedmont where his family has been making cheese since 1891! Taste plenty of varieties paired with great red Piedmontese wine. Then on to a classic enoteca in the heart of Trastevere which boasts a cellar of over 1200 different wines. With the help of a skilled sommelier, you will finish the night by savoring an unforgettable Italian wine with delicious local appetizers. Enjoy 5 unique varieties of Italian wine as well as: • Discover the Norcia art of creating pork delicacies in a family shop that has been a Roman landmark since 1890 • Enjoy unique cheeses and meet the family that has produced them for over 100 years • Sample a variety of antipasti (appetizers) paired with wines selected for you from over 1,000 varieties

Cancellation Policy

Please note that Eyes of Rome® applies the following cancellation policy for the selected product:

  • Eyes of Rome operates on a Full Refund Policy of the amount paid during the booking for cancellations made with 72-hours minimum notice
  • For cancellations/amendments requested from 72 to 24 hours from the tour starting time, Eyes of Rome reserves the right to charge or hold from the downpayment € 40 per person
  • For no shows on the day of the tour or cancellations/amendments requested less than 24 hours from the tour starting time, Eyes of Rome reserves the right to hold the amount paid during check out and charge any remaining balance for incomplete payments
