  • One of the new wonders of the modern world is also the largest ever Amphitheatre constructed during Ancient times was built with Volcanic rock mixed with brick and held an estimated 50-80 thousand people. It was a real hub of entertainment in central Rome, with regular shows, animal hunts and gladiatorial battles. Races were not held within the Colosseum due to the nearby Circo Massimo race track.
  • Access to the Arena floor is closed off to public by a small gate and is accessible with an internal Colosseum guide. The Arena floor offers views of the underground foundations below and the privilege to walk where Gladiators and wild beasts once fought to the death.
  • The political and business centre of ancient Rome, the warn away paths are covered in history. This is where the citizens came to listen to speeches, to meet the senators or to see people like Julius Caesar or Cicero. The ruins tell a story, and it is the story of Rome and its politics, with the likes of the ancient Curia (the Senate) that is still visible, but also with the impressive marble columns of temples which were erected for the first time in V century BC.

During this part of the tour only, you will join a small group lead by the official Undergrounds guide.

Visit the Colosseum, one of the largest structures of the ancient world, where Romans once gathered to watch the gladiator games, battles with wild beasts, and according to legend, sea battles.

At the Imperial Roman Forum, your guide will bring to life the mythology, the popular celebrations of the time, and the gods of ancient Rome, which are reflected in the star signs in contemporary astrology. End your tour on top of the Palatine Hill where you can enjoy a stunning overview on this wonderful archaeological area.

  • For security reasons all the visitors shall be screened and bags must be checked with metal detectors, opened and visually inspected by the Urbe Security Institute, responsible for the entrance inspection.
  • It is not possible to bring large bags or backpacks, as well as bulky bags and suitcases into the sites. (only small or medium flat bags)
  • Bring your ID or passport (especially for minors)

  • Eyes of Rome operates on a Full Refund Policy of the amount paid during the booking for cancellations made with 30-days minimum notice
  • For cancellations/amendments requested from 30 to 3 days from the tour starting time, Eyes of Rome reserves the right to charge or hold from the downpayment % of your booking
  • For no shows on the day of the tour or cancellations/amendments requested less than 72 hours from the tour starting time, Eyes of Rome reserves the right to hold the amount paid during check out and charge any remaining balance for incomplete payments
