  • One of the new wonders of the modern world is also the largest ever Amphitheatre constructed during Ancient times was built with Volcanic rock mixed with brick and held an estimated 50-80 thousand people. It was a real hub of entertainment in central Rome, with regular shows, animal hunts and gladiatorial battles. Races were not held within the Colosseum due to the nearby Circo Massimo race track.
  • Another great and sometimes underestimated extension to your Colosseum Tour (which includes access to the first 2 tiers) is our Belvedere upgrade, which has been just recently opened to the public in 2017. This will guarantee you access to the3rd, 4th and 5th tier of the Colosseum, from where you will be stunned by the amazing views of the Colosseum's architecture. From here, you will have a complete overview of the Colosseum lower levels, the arena and even the underground area which is partially uncovered, not to mention a breathtaking view of the Eternal City.

The Belvedere access will lead you up to the third, fourth, and fifth tiers of the Colosseum, offering you a unique view of the arena below and amazing views of the city of Rome.

Visit the Colosseum, one of the largest structures of the ancient world, where Romans once gathered to watch the gladiator games, battles with wild beasts, and according to legend, sea battles. At the Imperial Roman Forum, your guide will bring to life the mythology, the popular celebrations of the time, and the divinities of ancient Rome, which are reflected in the star signs in contemporary astrology.

Useful information

  • Not available the first Sunday of each month.
  • Not suggested to wheelchair users and people who suffer vertigo due to the height from Belvedere
  • For security reasons all visitors are screened at the entrance and bags are necessarily checked with metal detectors, opened and visually inspected by the Urbe Security Institute, responsible for the entrance inspection.
  • It is not possible to bring large bags or backpacks, as well as bulky bags and suitcases into the sites. (only small or medium flat bags). Tripods are not allowed.
  • Please do not forget to bring an ID Card or passport (especially for minors)

Cancellation Policy

Please note that Eyes of Rome® applies the following cancellation policy for the selected product:

  • Eyes of Rome operates on a Full Refund Policy of the amount paid during the booking for cancellations made with 72-hours minimum notice
  • For cancellations/amendments requested from 72 to 24 hours from the tour starting time, Eyes of Rome reserves the right to charge or hold from the downpayment € 40 per person
  • For no shows on the day of the tour or cancellations/amendments requested less than 24 hours from the tour starting time, Eyes of Rome reserves the right to hold the amount paid during check out and charge any remaining balance for incomplete payments
