We are indeed tour guides but first we are travelers. We understand there might be last minute unforeseen circumstances that might cause a change of plans. When we sat down to write our cancellation policy we decided to think to what Cancellation Policy we would like to have for ourselves for our trips.

One of the world’s great masterpieces, packed with palaces and art galleries, Florence is a must-do stop of any modern-day Grand Tour. More than any other Italian city, Florence is defined by its artistic heritage: indeed it is the city that gave birth to the Renaissance and it cherishes a vast array of its treasures.

The 15th century has been its golden age, a period of unprecedented artistic and intellectual achievements. It all underwent the Mida’s touch of the House of Medici, an Italian bourgeois family that ruled Florence and, later, Tuscany, from 1434 to 1737 (except for two brief intervals). Wherever you look in Florence, you will meet the Medici – not just their busts and coat of arms but the magnificent churches, palaces and works of art they commissioned.

This tour will focus on the amazing history of their rise to power and the palazzo intrigues, and will let you know more about their private life by visiting the hidden gems of their main Palace, Palazzo Pitti, and the gorgeous Boboli Gardens. Palazzo Pitti, which has also been the residence of the King of Italy for a brief period in the late 18th century, houses important collections of paintings and sculpture, porcelains and a costumes, besides providing a magnificently decorated historical setting which extends to the Boboli Gardens, one of the earliest Italian gardens famous also for its fountains and grottoes. This green heart of Florence can be considered an open air museum, rich in history and art, stories, secret corners and fascinating routes.

Hi Gerald, nice to meet you!

It is very nice to hear from an art lovers like you. It is certainly possible a tour of the main museums of Florence - Uffizi and Academy. However we highly recommend to do the tour in minimum 4 hours to have the best experience of both the museums. There is also a 15 minutes walk to consider from one museum to the other. You can send us an email at info@eyesofrome.com and we can go more in depth with your query and give the best option on how to plan your tour.

Many thanks for reaching out Eyes of Rome.

Hi Eyes! I saw your in the footstep of Michelangelo tour. I am a devoted admirer of Michelangelo and since I know his connection with Florence, I was wondering whether you do tours in other cities (e.g. Florence) and if I could consider a Michelangelo tour over there as well.

Hi Kim, thank you for your query. I am happy to confirm that Eyes of Rome expanded its horizons and we also tour in Florence, Venice, Naples, Pompeii and other surroundings cities. You can read this article for a quick look at our destinations, or visit our website.

Michelangelo is also one of the most admired artists of all time who depicts and describes Italy and its culture in the best way. Therefore, we have a particular interest in revealing everything possible about the artist and his artwork.

Regarding doing a Michelangelo tour in Florence, it would be our Best of Florence tour which is a walking tour that ends at the Academia where you can see the original statue of the David.

If you are interested in this tour, please send us an email at info@eyesofrome.com and we will be happy to help you through the processes from planning to the final goodbye.

We hope to hear from you soon.

    Very best wishes,

    Valentina

I was wondering whether it is possible to visit Florence and Pisa on a day trip from Rome. We only have one day available to visit these places and don't want to choose on just one. Thanks in advance for your help

  • Ciao Julia! What a great question! It happens quite often that we have guests that would like to see as much as possible in one day due to their tight schedules.

While I personally believe it best to spend one night in Florence, to be able to enjoy and get a real feel for the city and its history, it is absolutely doable in one day.

The tours we offer in Florence and Pisa that you can find on our website are designed both to start and finish in Florence. However, our great tour designers will be happy to set up a private driver for you from Rome, to include a stop in Florence and a visit in the city center and the Accademia, and then continue towards Pisa.

If you are looking instead for a more cost effective option, I highly suggest booking the fast train from Rome to Florence early in the morning (it takes no longer than 1.5 hours and it much cheaper than a private driver) and meeting your private guide and driver directly at the Florence train station!

Just send us an email at info@eyesofrome.com and we will send you an outline of all options available!
